The Southern Shores of
Georgian Bay Outdoor Photography Workshop

View images from previous workshops.

Join Mike on an excursion along the beautiful southern shoreline of Georgian Bay.

You never know what the weather will bring you on this workshop. Storms can come out of no-where with dark clouds looming on the horizon and within the hour you're baking on the beach in golden sunlight.

We'll explore the 450-million-year-old Blue Mountain Shale that is exposed along the shoreline at Craigleith. The deep cracks, shallow water and even some fozzilized trilobites will provide us with many photographic opportunities. This is a great location in any weather.

Next we'll wind our way up to beautiful Inglis Falls in Owen Sound. From the mill-pond above, lush vegetation all around, to the deep crevice below, there's a wide range of subject matter to photograph. And that's not even including the spectacular falls themselves.

As always, we go rain or shine, so please dress appropriately. If the weather is wet, please wear non-slip shoes as we'll be traversing over a lot of rock that can get slippery. Some of the areas at the falls stay wet so good shoes are a must in any weather.

NOTE: You must be in fairly good physical condition to climb around the falls area. There are plenty of easy-access spots, but to get to the more interesting areas requires some exhertion.
