PERSONALIZED WORKSHOPS & CLASSES

Would you like to learn more about photography? Digital Photography? PhotoShop?

These are unlike any other photography course because they are customized to teach you exactly what you want to know. Instructor to student ratio is 1:1 (but you can bring a friend or spouse on select courses) and you receive total attention to your problems, interests and the direction you want to proceed in.

The photography workshop is in the field. We go rain or shine and actually hope for varying weather conditions. Dress for the time of year.

The personalized classes are held at the studio. When you sign up for the class, we establish your starting point, discuss where you want to go, what you want to learn and what you need to learn to get there. Sometimes you'll learn what you need in one session, and other times you may want to schedule a followup session, or even a series. It's entirely up to you.

Classes are scheduled for when you have the time. What’s more... we can start whenever you like! Choose your starting point below, then give us a call to schedule your personalized program.

We also offer scheduled Group Photography Workshops through-out the year. These workshops will take place on-location at places of interest through-out central Ontario. Popular workshops are the Georgian Shores, Georgian Bay Islands and Fall Colour workshops.

4 Hr Outdoor Workshop

Bring you rain gear!

This workshop is quite intensive, and we go rain or shine. We'll pick a subject you're intersted in and actually go out and shoot it. Yup... using real cameras, real light, film or digital, anything goes. This is real hands on learning.

We recommend you have the equivalent of our Intermediate Photography course under your belt before signing up for this. You should know the relationship between aperture and shutter speeds and know how to shoot in manual mode. No programmed auto shooting allowed here.

Session are typically four hours long. Maximum of 2 students. Perfect for couples.

Essentials of Digital Photography

Gotta Start Somewhere

These classes are for those that don't know where to start. Even if you haven’t purchased your camera yet, we can help you decide on which type or style to choose depending on what you enjoy photographing, which lenses to first consider and what accessories you'll need. This is covered in our 'New Equipment Purchase' session.

The 'Camera Orientation Session' will teach you about the functions of your camera (new or old), what settings to use and what all those icons and buttons are for. You'll also learn which Auto mode to use, and when, and when not to. Focusing and proper camera holding techniques will also be covered (yes, there is a 'technique' to holding your camera!)

In the Photography Principles session, you’ll learn handling, exposure and composition. How to get the most out of whatever camera you own. We will work together at your pace to make sure you understand everything you need before we progress to the next step. But we also challenge you, to push ahead, experiment and most of all, enjoy this fascinating hobby.

Sessions are two hours long. Maximum of 2 students. Perfect for couples or family members.

Cost: $95 for 1 or $145 for 2.

For the Digital Photographer

You’re a digital photographer, but what do you do with a digital photograph? This class introduces you to Adobe PhotoShop or Adobe Lightroom and how to use it to sort, select, adjust, manipulate and enhance your digital photographs. Learn about Levels, Curves and how to process RAW files from your digital camera. We’ll also touch base on the best methods for filing and storing your images so you can find them when you need them.

It’s best if you are able to bring in your own computer and copy of PhotoShop or Lightroom. Our studio runs on Mac, so if you’re on a PC, this will enable us to show you what to do on your own system, using your own images. If you don’t have a computer or a licensed copy of PhotoShop or Lightroom, we will work off of the studio system.

Sessions are two hours and strictly one-on-one.

Cost: $125 per session.
