Mike Guilbault, MPA, APPO, is a Qualified Associate of the Professional Photographers of Ontario (PPO) and received National Accreditation from the Professional Photographers of Canada (PPOC) for:

Mike is an honoured recipient of the Master of Photographic Arts Award from the PPOC and is a Qualifiied Associate of PPO.

Mike's skills have been honed from over 20 years of experience in the photographic industry and he continues to upgrade his skills through seminars and workshops offered by some of the most prominent photographers in Canada and the United States.

Versed in portrait, fine art, commercial, wedding and digital imaging, Mike has been able to transfer and combine techniques from these very different fields to compliment and expand the creative process. His sense of lighting, composition and creativity are evident in his work.

His photographs have hung in the National Print Salon and the Permanent Loan Collection of the Professional Photographers of Canada and featured in publications both locally and internationally.

Before Mike became a professional photographer he worked in the corporate world as a retail manager and sales trainer. Mike brings these skills to his photography workshops and is adept at teaching students of any level, from beginner through advanced.

His own personal learning of the art of photography has been an ongoing passion since an early age, watching his father develop black & white photographs in a home-made darkroom. He purchased his first 35mm SLR, a Canon Ftb, while still in high-school and the learning still continues.

Today, Mike is totally digital and uses Nikon digital SLRs. His lenses range from 12mm to 200mm and include specialty lenses such as the 85mm PC lens. Versed not only in photography, he is equally at home on the computer and adept with programs such as Adobe PhotoShop and Lightroom.

Although Mike is an accomplished and accredited professional photographer, his first exposure to photography was photographing landscapes, nature, and the world around him, much like many amateur photographers today. His passion for this field of photography is very personal and has evolved into the workshops and courses that he runs today.
